He is an ACE-certified physical fitness instructor and also an NRA-certified firearms instructor with marksmanship awards in both pistol and rifle. Daniel lives in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio with his wife and two daughters.Most people don’t really comprehend the speed at which a violent attack can occur. The human ego, fueled by insecurity, is the second leading cause of most conflicts—second only to greed. Violence and Ego details winning strategies for self-defense and explains the ways to recognize and avoid ego-driven conflicts. Topics include understanding adrenal-stress response and the importance of repetitious training to act swiftly and instinctively in a violent situation. This book also explores the manipulating mindset of a predator and their victim selection process, as well as providing simple techniques to heighten your situational awareness, how to quickly recognize nonverbal precursors to an attack, and also stresses the importance of knowing self-defense laws, enabling you to articulate your actions before, during and after defending yourself. I felt compelled to share some of my real-life accounts of surviving violent altercations to illustrate the do’s and don’ts when confronted with a dangerous or potentially deadly situation. I learned many of these lessons the hard way. I’ve written this book with the hopes that you won’t have to.
